At present, the consumption of
meat products shows an increasing trend. Although the volume of pork and poultry products has decreased slightly, the consumption of other types of meat products such as beef and mutton will expand and the overall consumption structure will accelerate and improve.
Bureau of Statistics data show that in 2015 the annual output of poultry meat sheep 84.54 million tons, down 1% over the previous year, of which 54.87 million tons of pork production, down 3.3%. Egg production 29.99 million tons, up 3.6% over the previous year; milk production 37.55 million tons, an increase of 0.8%.
Another set of data shows that domestic meat production in 2015 to 15 million tons, accounting for the proportion of total national meat production was 17%, while the proportion of developed countries reached 30% -50%.
Among them, the proportion of beef and mutton products accounted for only 8.3% of all meat products, and in developed countries, beef and mutton can usually account for 26.4% of the total production of meat products.
The Ministry of Agriculture predicts that domestic meat consumption will be 100 million tons in 2020, but according to the current domestic production capacity, the overall domestic production in 2020 is only 90 million tons, so there will be a gap of 10 million tons.
